Comedian and activist Eric Omondi has called on Kenyans to turn up in large numbers for a heartfelt cause at Uhuru Park. In a passionate post shared on his social media, Eric announced that “the day is here” and urged fans to come through for Kilonzo Day, a fundraising event in support of barber Samuel Kilonzo, popularly known as @kitikisam_the_barber.

Barbers and salonists are expected to set up at Uhuru Park, offering haircuts as proceeds go toward supporting Kilonzo’s cancer treatment and helping him take a bold step toward his lifelong dream of opening a barber shop dedicated to giving free haircuts to children with autism, people living with cancer, and persons with disabilities.

“Tuko Uhuru Park. Kujeni mnyolewe for an honorable course,” Eric wrote, urging those who can make it physically to show up, and encouraging those who can’t to support through contributions. He shared Kilonzo’s mobile number (0724590868) and Paybill details (303030, Account: TNHU#) for well-wishers who wish to donate remotely.

Earlier, Kilonzo himself had made an emotional appeal, calling on fellow barbers, salonists, and members of the public to stand with him for a vision rooted in service and compassion. His dream barber shop, he says, would be a safe and welcoming space where the most vulnerable in society can receive care, dignity, and kindness at no cost.

Social media has since been awash with messages of support, with many praising Eric Omondi for consistently using his platform to spotlight real stories and mobilise action.
