Senior officials in the Ministry led by Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, on Monday, 23 January, signed new performance contracts in a move aimed at tightening accountability and improving service to the public.
Sharing the update on his X account, Murkomen said the exercise is meant to keep the Ministry focused on transparency, efficiency and good governance.
He said the signing of the contracts is a reminder that public officers must deliver on their responsibilities and remain accountable to Kenyans.
The event brought together the Ministry’s top leadership, including Principal Secretaries Dr Raymond Omollo (Internal Security and National Administration), Dr Belio Kipsang (Immigration and Citizen Services), Dr Salome Beacco (Correctional Services) and Hon Ahmed Ibrahim (National Government Coordination).
Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and Commissioner General of Prisons Patrick Aranduh were also present, alongside other senior government officials.
Murkomen noted that the performance appraisal process will help the Ministry track its targets and identify areas that need improvement as it works to serve citizens better.
