The Government is keen on fostering climate resilience and economic recovery.
President William Ruto has emphasized the increasing demand to take action on improving the environmental stature of Nairobi.
This, President Ruto explained, is important as Nairobi is not only Kenya’s capital city but also the global capital of environmental conservation.
“It is important that we present Nairobi as a city that respects the tenets of environmental conservation,” said President Ruto.
He said that the launch of Climate WorX, an initiative focusing on climate change adaptation including the rehabilitation of the Nairobi River, will help create a better profile for Nairobi.
The President was speaking during a meeting with National Government Administration Officers at Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete.
President Ruto highlighted the vital role of multi-agency approach in effecting Government’s initiatives.
He urged the officers to educate and provide relevant information to the grassroots to help in the implementation of the Climate WorX programme.
