A section of political leaders from the Mount Kenya region has urged President William Ruto to complete development projects initiated by the previous regime as he prepares for a development tour in the region next week.

Speaking at a press briefing, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi and former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi emphasized the need for the president to fulfill his campaign promises to the people of Mount Kenya.

Muturi reaffirmed that the region welcomes President Ruto’s visit but stressed the importance of completing projects that were left unfinished. “The president is welcome in Mount Kenya, but we also urge him to prioritize projects that were started by the last administration to ensure our people benefit fully,” Muturi stated.

Mwathi echoed similar sentiments, noting that infrastructure, agriculture, and water projects remain key concerns for residents. “The people of Mount Kenya voted for this government with the hope of economic transformation. We expect the president to address these concerns and deliver on his commitments,” he added.

President Ruto’s upcoming tour is expected to focus on key development initiatives, with leaders and residents keenly watching whether his administration will address the region’s pressing issues.
