A brother to senior politician Moses Kuria has declared his intention to contest the Juja parliamentary seat on the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket ahead of the next General Election.
Aloise Kinyanjui made the announcement during a political gathering in Juja Constituency, where he told supporters that he had officially ditched his former party, Jubilee, to join DCP.
Speaking in a mix of English and Kiswahili, Kinyanjui said the decision was informed by the political realities on the ground and the need to align himself with a party he believes reflects the will of the people.
“Huku ground mnasema aje? Last time nilikuwa Jubilee, but najoin DCP,” he said, drawing cheers from the crowd.
Kinyanjui’s declaration is expected to shake up the political landscape in Juja, a constituency that has in recent years witnessed intense political realignments and party shifts.
