NARC-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has officially rebranded her party to the People’s Liberation Party (PLP).

The launch event, which saw the attendance of Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Jimmy Wanjigi and other leaders, highlighted the importance of unity and the need for elected leaders to prioritize service delivery to ensure prosperity for the country.

“The call for unity is the foundation of the liberation movement, and our commitment today is to do just that,” Karua remarked during the ceremony.

Kalonzo Musyoka also spoke at the event, emphasizing that the party will join a more action-oriented unity movement.

“We are uniting under a common idea, under a shared agenda. It’s not just about unity for the sake of removing one individual because of misrule,” he stated.

Rigathi Gachagua encouraged the youth to register as voters ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging them not to fight for change solely on social media.

“The real transformation will happen on the ballot, Gen-Z. Register as voters, wake up early on election day, and vote for the leaders you want. We’ll support you,” he said.

The rebrand includes a new colour scheme of purple, lilac, and white, moving away from the red, white, and green of NARC-Kenya. Additionally, the party has adopted new slogans: “Unite” and “Liberate,” replacing the previous one, “One Kenya, One Nation, One People.”

The party’s symbol has also been updated from a red rose to a purple rose.

Karua explained that the change in colors does not indicate a shift in the party’s original mission, which was established in 2006.

She highlighted that the broader strategy of PLP aims to appeal to the Generation Z demographic, who are expected to play a crucial role in the 2027 elections.

This rebranding follows the recent opening of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) headquarters by Eugene Wamalwa, an event attended by Rigathi Gachagua.
