Kenya and the World Health Organization are one step closer to developing two major health centers in Kenya that will serve the entire region.
Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni welcomed a WHO delegation on Tuesday to review progress toward the Africa Regional Emergency Operations and Logistics Hub and the Eastern Africa Regional Coordinating Centre.
Kenya has also already contributed land to the projects, a testament to the government’s seriousness to have them accomplished.
The meeting reviewed progress to date and charted future direction towards the establishment of the facilities.
Once established, the centres are expected to contribute to regional health security and improve the speed of nations’ response to disease outbreaks and other emergencies.
