Former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has challenged the Gen Z graduating class of Brookhouse School to rise as bold leaders and change-makers of the future.
Speaking during the school’s 17th graduation ceremony at the Karen Campus on Friday, Kenyatta urged the 170 graduates to use their talents to question the status quo and champion global transformation.
“I see a bold generation rising—one ready to reimagine the future and confront injustices,” she said. “Let your brilliance drive innovation and build the kinder world we so desperately need.”
Applauding their achievements, including the 40% who secured scholarships to top global universities, she praised their compassion, critical thinking, and commitment to service hallmarks of Gen Z leadership.
She also lauded their involvement in environmental and community projects, saying it proves their readiness to take on global challenges. “Go forth and shine,” she told them. “Let your light transform the world.”
The ceremony also featured United Nations Office in Nairobi Director-General Zainab Bangura, who called on the graduates to stay productive and use their education to address real-world issues.
Brookhouse Director John O’Connor reminded them, “You make the decisions and hopefully you find your purpose.”
The Class of 2025 now joins a growing alumni network with one clear mission: lead with purpose, and shape a better future.
