Manchester City’s crisis deepened with a 2-0 defeat to Juventus in Turin on Wednesday in the Champions League.

The reigning European champions fell short as Dusan Vlahovic gave Juventus the lead early in the second half, with Ederson unable to prevent his header from crossing the line.

City came close to equalizing, but Ilkay Gundogan’s effort was thwarted by an excellent save from Michele Di Gregorio.

In the 75th minute, Weston McKennie sealed the win for Juventus with a stunning acrobatic goal to make it 2-0.

The result leaves Juventus on 11 points, with two games remaining, and they are now in a strong position to secure at least a spot in the knockout play-offs.

For Manchester City, the defeat marks their only win in the last 10 matches across all competitions, with seven losses during that stretch.

They are currently 22nd in the standings with just eight points, with the top 24 teams advancing to the knockout rounds.

Their next match is crucial, as they travel to face Paris Saint-Germain, who sit just a point behind them in the group.

Pep Guardiola’s side are currently 22nd in the standings.

“We have to get points. We’ll go to Paris to try and do that, and the same goes for the final match at home against Club Brugge,” Guardiola stated.

Meanwhile, Barcelona, who are second in the group with 15 points, secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund in Germany, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal.

Liverpool remains top of the group.
