Mbavu Vs Majembe

Social media sensation Mbavu “The Destroyer” suffered a humbling defeat on Saturday after losing to Majembe via technical knockout in a highly anticipated boxing clash.

The boxing match was stopped in the fourth round after Mbavu, whose real name is Ferdinand Omondi, was unable to continue, prompting the referee to call it off.

Majembe, born Portifas Odipo, was declared the winner, with all three judges scoring the fight in his favour after dominating the opening rounds.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Mbavu ‘The Destroyer’ cannot continue with the fight. We are now going back to the scorecards. Judge number one: red corner 30, blue corner 27. Judge number two: red corner 30, blue corner 27. Judge number three: red corner 30, blue corner 27. The winner by TKO is red corner Portifas Odipo, also known as Majembe,” the commissioner announced.

However, the match was not short of drama. In the closing moments of round four, sections of the crowd raised concerns over alleged illegal punches by Majembe, sparking brief uproar at the venue.

In the video seen by Tukio, the crowd was enraged after a punch thrown by Majembe seemed to have hit Mbavu just below the belt.

The match was part of the Vurugu Boxing event organised by media personality Oga Obinna, attracting significant attention online and offline.

The event also drew notable support, with President William Ruto and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga among those reported to have contributed sponsorship.

Other leaders present include; Emabakasi East MP Babu Owino, Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor better known as Jalang’o and Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu.

Despite Majembe’s victory, much of the spotlight shifted to Mbavu, with Mumias East MP Peter Salasya suggesting the fighter deserves compensation.

“Shida kubwa ya kudai na hauwezi, but I think Mbavu ‘The Destroyer’ needs to be compensated heavily because through his hype, he made this match highly anticipated,” Salasya stated.
