KMTC Releases Admission Letters, Warns Students on Portal Glitches and Scammers

The Kenya Medical Training College has issued admission letters to candidates who are to join the institution in March 2026. However, a majority of candidates who went to download theirs were unable to do so due to traffic on the college’s online portal.

The college issued the letters to both pre-service and in-service students on March 9, 2026. Due to the large number of candidates visiting the online platform at the same time, some students were unable to access their admission letters.

“Admission letters for both Pre-Service and In-Service applicants were officially released yesterday. Because of high portal traffic, some applicants may currently experience difficulties accessing or downloading their letters,” reads a statement from the institution.

Students who were unable to access the platform were asked to be patient as they try again at a later time when the traffic might have reduced.

KMTC also warned students to be cautious of scammers who are taking advantage of the situation to dupe students who are seeking to join the institution. These scammers claim they can help students access the admission letter at a fee.

“Applicants are strongly cautioned to beware of fraudsters who may take advantage of this situation by claiming they can help you access or secure admission letters for a fee,” the college emphasized.

The college explained that all admission letters are only available through the official KMTC admissions portal. No money is required by applicants to access these letters.

This is coming just a day after KMTC announced to the public about the existence of fake admission letters being circulated on social media and through messaging applications targeting potential students. The scammers used false contacts and information in a bid to dupe students by charging them money for these documents.

KMTC reminds students that applications for the March 2026 intake are still open. The deadline for this application is Friday, 13th March 2026. Interested students should apply through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) student portal.

The number of positions available in this intake is 21,774 in 36 diploma and certificate courses in 98 campuses across the country.
