Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki has, through his speech, highlighted the changes that have taken place in the health sector in Kenya under the Kenya Kwanza government and as such he assured the hygiene care delivery transformation will continue.
During the 94th Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) graduation ceremony at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Thursday, the DP said the government has gone far in deepening healthcare delivery, particularly at the grassroots level.
22,776 students were awarded certificates after successfully completing their training in different medical fields.
Kindiki mentioned among other things the introduction of healthcare promoters in every village across the country as one of the government’s most significant milestones and explained that this measure is enabling the resolution of primary health care problems at the community level.

Besides, the Deputy President Kindiki assured that students whose families are poor and come from vulnerable backgrounds will be helped by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) so that the burden of their finances will be eased and they will be free to continue their studies.
Kindiki also seized this opportunity to call the youth to be leaders of peace and unity as the next general election is approaching, thus they have a very vital role in shaping Kenya’s future.
It was another landmark for KMTC as the event demonstrated that the institution continues to be the main source of frontline health workers in the country.
