Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has come out strongly to defend President William Ruto’s development record in Meru County and has also changed the subject after taking issue with opposition leaders over what he said was their incitement of the residents against the government.
Prof Kindiki, who was addressing the media during a working tour of Meru County, said that the Kenya Kwanza administration has been able to achieve a lot from the time it took office to date, thus three years.
Among others he pointed at the gov. apps infrastracture development endeavours, economic empowerment through various initiatives and better service delivery to the populace in different sectors.
The Deputy President went on to say the people of the Mt. Kenya region, which is a very crucial region for voting, have their eyes open on the good work of the government and that, hence their continued support to President Ruto’s leadership.
Furthermore, Kindiki charged the opposition with intentionally spreading falsehoods that are meant to discredit the development agenda of the government.
Kindiki said, “As a government, we are committed to delivering real and visible change to the people. The development that has taken place in Meru and the whole Mt. Kenya region can be seen and felt. “
As the 2027 General Election gets closer, political activities in Mt. Kenya region are gaining momentum, with leaders eyeing the direction of the political ge bloc by consolidating their support base.
Prof. Kindiki at the same time reaffirmed the governments pledge to accelerate development projects, strengthen economic empowerment programmes,
