Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has praised the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) for its longstanding contribution to national development through education, healthcare, water projects and youth empowerment initiatives.
Speaking on Sunday during the official opening of the Kigari Teachers College Administration Block in Manyatta Constituency, Embu County, Kindiki said both the Church and the State share a common responsibility of promoting peace, harmony and peaceful coexistence in society.
He noted that for decades, the ACK, alongside other church denominations, has played a critical role in empowering communities by investing in education, health services, water access and youth enterprise programmes across the country.
Following the launch of the new administration block, the Deputy President joined congregants in marking the 36th anniversary celebrations of the Embu ACK Diocese, where he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with faith-based organisations in advancing social and economic development.
Kindiki said partnerships between the government and religious institutions remain essential in improving the well-being of citizens and fostering national unity.
