Kikuyu MCA Kamau James Boro has issued a stern warning to Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, urging him to change his leadership style or risk facing an impeachment motion.

Boro as reported by Star Newspaper accused the governor of frustrating County Assembly members and sowing political division.

He claimed that the ongoing conflict between the executive and the assembly stems from a lack of tangible development in the county.

“The governor has clashed with nearly every major leader in Kiambu, not just Ichung’wah. The issues raised are legitimate concerns about stalled projects and questionable procurement processes,” Boro said.

He dismissed rumors that Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah was fighting the governor, terming the claims as “purely speculative.”

“If the EACC finds him guilty of the corruption allegations, we will have no option as County Assembly members but to table an impeachment motion,” Boro added.

Boro’s sentiments were echoed by Kiamwangi MCA Kungu Smart, who criticized the governor for allegedly dividing the assembly and failing to deliver on key development projects.

He cited the delayed upgrade of Ng’enda Health Centre, which had an approved budget of over KSh 55 million.

“The governor has been promising the hospital’s launch ‘next week’ for almost a year now. It’s become a cycle of broken promises,” Kungu said.

He also raised concern over the stalled Muchang’ara Bridge project and called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate suspected misappropriation of funds.

Governor Wamatangi was recently arrested by the EACC over allegations of mismanaging county finances, further fueling the tension between his office and the County Assembly.
