Kenyan musician Kevin Kioko Bahati has been plunged into mourning following the loss of a loved one. The Barua Kwa Mama hitmaker cried as he bid farewell to his stepmother in a moving ceremony attended by family and friends. Bahati took to social media to share a heartfelt tribute to Mama Benja as he paid his last respects.
“It’s been a sad day. It is still unbelievable that you are gone. It was a painful goodbye to the woman that my dad loved last. Our mum has gone to be with the Lord,” he wrote.
Bahati also recalled the last conversation he had with his stepmother, just weeks before her untimely passing. “I talked to her three weeks ago, promising her I would take Benja to Nairobi and give him a job,” he said, standing beside her wooden coffin, with Diana by his side.
