Kenya’s tourism sector has not only fully recovered from the impact of COVID-19 pandemic but also has gone beyond the pre- pandemic levels during President Ruto’s administration. more than 1. 7 million jobs. This solidifies tourism’s position as a major foreign
exchange earner.
Conservation and wildlife protection are the major themes of the sector’s revival.
Through the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), the government has deepened the capacity of the ranger patrol by acquiring 98 new vehicles, enhancing service digitization for better revenue transparency, and recruiting the largest batch of
rangers in ten years, including a record number of female rangers.
These have all been great helping not only to reinforce the protection of the wildlife but also to enhance the financial sustainability of the conservation efforts that constitute the basis of safari tourism.
