Kenya began the 2025/26 fiscal year on a stronger footing, recording a 7.53% year-on-year growth in tax revenues for July.

According to the latest Statement of Actual Revenues and Net Exchequer Issues, tax collections in July 2025 stood at Kes 171.53 billion, up from Kes 159.58 billion in the same month last year.

The performance marks a sharper growth compared to July 2024, when revenues rose by just 2.87% year-on-year, a period that was not supported by new tax measures following the rescinding of the Finance Bill 2024.
