President William Ruto has reaffirmed Kenya’s strong ties with the United Kingdom, emphasizing the need to enhance mutual growth and cooperation between the two nations.
Speaking after a meeting with British High Commissioner Neil Wigan at State House, Nairobi, President Ruto stated that Kenya and the UK are reviewing their Strategic Partnership Agreement for 2025–2030 to bolster economic collaboration, technology, innovation, and research.
“The United Kingdom remains one of Kenya’s key strategic partners. As we strengthen this relationship, we are reviewing our Strategic Partnership Agreement for 2025–2030 to further enhance mutual growth and cooperation,” Ruto said.

The discussions also covered priority projects, including the Nairobi Railway City and Kenya’s commitment to climate action under the Africa Green Industrialization Initiative. Both leaders explored ways to accelerate these projects to drive sustainable development.

Additionally, the talks touched on regional peace and security in the Great Lakes region and the Horn of Africa, reflecting Kenya’s commitment to fostering stability within the region.

The meeting reinforced the enduring diplomatic and economic partnership between Kenya and the UK, with both sides expressing optimism about deepening cooperation in the coming years.
