Today, Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni represented H.E. President William Ruto at a high-level meeting at the United Nations, hosted by Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, H.E. Gaston Alphonso, and co-hosted by WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros.

The focus of the meeting was on global efforts to prevent and control non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Kenya shared its progress in combating NCDs, emphasizing the role of Community Health Promoters in scaling up prevention, early detection, and treatment at the household level.

The country also highlighted the recently enacted Social Health Act, which aims to protect Kenyans from the financial strain of chronic diseases.
