The Kenya Netball Federation (KNF) has kicked off a four-week training camp at Ulinzi Sports Complex ahead of the inaugural UAE Netball Cup set for June 15–21, 2025, at Al Nasr Sports Hall in Dubai.

KNF Secretary General Millicent Busolo confirmed that national team head coach Mugisha Ali will be assisted by Prisons Kenya’s Everline Jerono.

A provisional squad of 19 players has been named, to be trimmed to 14 before the team travels on June 12.

“Our goal is to earn maximum points and boost our chances of qualifying for the 2026 Commonwealth Games,” said Busolo, who added that the UAE Cup is one of four key tournaments this year.

Kenya will represent Africa alongside Namibia, competing against the UAE, USA, Singapore, and Ireland in the six-nation event hosted under the Al Nasr Sports Club franchise.

The squad includes five U-21 players, with standouts like Dorine Akinyi (Ulinzi), Lucy Atieno (Prisons), and Mildred Baraza (Equity) leading the shooters.

U-21 captain Miriam Wamani (Equity) and Maureen Simiyu (Prisons) join the defensive unit.

Veterans such as Ramadhan Pauline (Prisons) return from injury, while seasoned names like Hellen Sinoya (KNH), Delilah Mukudi (Prisons), and Irene Atieno (Prisons) strengthen the midfield and attack.

The final squad of 14 will be announced in early June.
