Kenya Kwanza leaders have urged the Maasai community in Kajiado to distance themselves from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of promoting divisive politics and spreading misinformation.

The leaders, who are closely aligned with President William Ruto, dismissed Gachagua’s recent visit to the county as a political show lacking substance. According to them, the former DP failed to offer any practical solutions and instead sought to incite the public against a government that is actively working to improve lives.

Speaking during a community empowerment event held at Kajiado Technical Training Institute, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah criticized Gachagua and his allies for what he termed as selfish political propaganda.

“They speak ill of Ruto, but fail to present their own agenda for the people of Kajiado. Their focus is on mudslinging instead of offering development plans,” Ichung’wah stated.

Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchory echoed similar sentiments, calling on locals to look beyond theatrics and choose leaders based on development track records.

“You enjoy when politicians entertain you, but it’s often those same leaders who bring hardship. Leadership should be about service, not jokes,” he remarked.

On her part, Kajiado Woman Representative Leah Sankaire emphasized the tangible impact of government support in the county, noting that initiatives like NGAAF are changing lives.

“If your group has received help today, know that it’s the President’s hand at work,” she said, referring to the distribution of empowerment tools and resources.

The leaders made their remarks during the NGAAF empowerment program, which brought together women, youth, and persons with disabilities, offering them support to start or expand income-generating activities.
