The National Museum of Kenya (NMK) has a new revised entry fees for its heritage sites and museums, taking effects in May 7th, 2026. In Legal Notice No. 79 of 2025 under Museums and Heritage Act, the adjustment will affect both Kenyan citizens and International visitors.
The new rates for ordinary citizen will pay Ksh. 350 from Ksh. 300 for adults while children will pay Ksh. 200 from Ksh 150 to Nairobi National Museum. Africa residents will pay US$9 for adults and US$6 for children and foreigners will pay US$18 for adults and US$9 for children.
The Snake Park will pay Ksh 350 for adults and Ksh 200 for children. Entry fee for Nairobi Gallery will cost Ksh 300 adults and Ksh 200 children. Foreigners will pay US$14 adults and US$7 children.
The Karen Blixen and Fort Jesus will pay Ksh 550 adults and Ksh 300 children. Resident of Africa will pay US$12 adults and US$7 for children and foreigners will cost US$19 adults and US$9 children.
The NMK Director General has said as the revised fees is aimed to gain visitors experience and encourage conservation efforts.
“These adjustments are necessary to support the maintenance of our heritage sites, improve services, and ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy and learn from Kenya’s rich cultural and natural heritage,” he said.
This changes will boost the cultural tourism as the government is making efforts to diversify the country’s tourism sector and economic sector.
