French President Emmanuel Macron says Kenya and France are on the same page when it comes to development and neither country believes progress has to come at the expense of the environment.
“We believe development and protecting the planet must go hand in hand,” he said this referring to the Pact for Prosperity, People, and Planet, which was launched in Paris back in 2023.
Speaking from Seville at a global forum, Macron said that he and President Ruto are pushing for a future where countries don’t have to choose between “growing their economies and protecting the planet.”
Kenya and France are already working together on key projects in clean energy, transport infrastructure, and agriculture.
President Macron of France also talked about to joint efforts in peacebuilding across Africa including in Sudan, Somalia, and the Great Lakes region
