Kenya has officially confirmed to host of the 2027 FIA World Rally Championship Safari Rally (WRC), marking another chapter in the country’s motorsport history.

President William Ruto announced the news celebrating the rally’s deep roots in Kenya and its global significance.

“I am delighted to confirm that Kenya will host the WRC Safari Rally in 2027. The Safari was born on Kenyan soil. It belongs on Kenyan soil,” Ruto said.

This will lead the world rally drivers to participate in the valleys, plains and roads around Naivasha.

The FIA confirmed a 15-round championship across five continents, with Kenya’s Safari Rally scheduled for March 18-21, 2027.

Kenya’s inclusion marks an importance significant as one of the most iconic and demanding sport rallies in the world.  

The Safari Rally is known to boost Kenya’s economy in tourism, business and global exposure with beautiful scenery.

President Ruto thanked the Ministry of Sports, the WRC Safari Rally Project, private-sector partners, the FIA and the WRC Promoter for making this possible.
