President William Ruto has commended China’s continued commitment to foster international cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative.

The President applauded its transformative impact on infrastructure development across Kenya and the African continent.

“I commend China for its commitment to international cooperation, embodied in the Belt and Road Initiative, which has significantly advanced infrastructure across Kenya and Africa,” President Ruto Stated.

Speaking after a high-level meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, President Ruto emphasized Kenya’s readiness to accelerate bilateral trade and investment with China.

“At my meeting with Prime Minister Li Qiang, we agreed to accelerate trade and investment relations between Kenya and China,” said President Ruto.

The two leaders agreed to advance key trade discussions and unlock new avenues of economic cooperation.

The Head of State revealed that both nations are now working towards the speedy conclusion of a free trade agreement aimed at strengthening economic ties and creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries.

“We also commit to the speedy conclusion of a free trade agreement between our two countries,” revealed President Ruto.

The move comes at a time when Kenya is seeking to diversify its international trade partnerships and attract foreign direct investment, particularly in manufacturing, agriculture, and ICT.
