Kenya and the Republic of Seychelles continue to enjoy warm and longstanding diplomatic relations, built on shared Indian Ocean heritage, Commonwealth membership and enduring people-to-people ties.

During productive bilateral talks, Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya met with Hon. Kalsey Belle, Seychelles’ Minister for Youth and Sports, to discuss talent identification and development, sports governance, youth empowerment and the commercialization of sports for the economic growth.

Hon. Belle praised Kenya’s NYOTA Programme, recognizing its transformative impact in empowering young people through skills development, entrepreneurship, employment opportunities and economic inclusion.

The meeting highlighted a model for how sports and youth initiatives can directly contribute to national growth.

They reaffirmed a strong friendship between Kenya and Seychelles, emphasizing a shared commitment to leveraging sports and youth development as catalysts for sustainable development, regional cooperation and prosperity.
