The Government officially launched the Kazi Majuu Recruitment Drive at National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Mombasa on Wednesday, the start of a three-day exercise to link Kenyans with overseas employment opportunities.
Set to go through Friday, May 8, the recruitment programme has brought together employers, licensed recruitment agencies and Government institutions to offer more than 4,000 jobs abroad. The job openings span the healthcare hospitality domestic services transport construction and technical trades sectors.
Speaking on recruitment, Cabinet Secretary for Labour Dr. Alfred Mutua said that jobs opportunities are in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Bahrain.
Mutua said he was impressed with the number of young people who were interested in getting jobs overseas.
“I was very impressed by the huge turnout of young Kenyans who came with hope, determination and readiness to grab the job opportunities abroad. Their zeal and hope confirm once again our Government commitment to intensively seek labour mobility partnerships that will open doors for our youth outside our country, ” said the Labour CS.
Dr Mutua also prompted the job seekers from the Coast Region and other parts of the country not to miss out on the this thing and before it ends, saying that the program provides an opportunity for numerous families to enhance their living standards through gainful employment overseas.
Besides, the Government running agencies viz National Employment Authority and National Industrial Training Authority are physically present to help the applicants with their verification, documents, and guidance in order to have a smooth and transparent recruitment process.
The Government points out that Kazi Majuu is a whole range of measures through which the opportunity of working abroad is open to Kenyan youth besides protecting the rights of migrant workers.
