The upgrading of the Kapsoit Filling Station–Borborwet–TG 38 road in Kericho County has entered its final phase, with contractors laying the final asphalt surface along the main section.
According to interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, the project is expected to strengthen connectivity between Kericho’s productive agricultural highlands and the wider Lake Basin region by providing a reliable bitumen-standard link to the Kericho–Kisumu highway.
Managed by the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), the road improvement is expected to complete the final surfacing works within a week, paving the way for improved movement of people and goods across the area.
The upgraded corridor is also expected to support the region’s growing agricultural activity by reducing travel time and vehicle operating costs for farmers, traders and other road users.
Beyond economic benefits, the improved road will enhance road safety and mobility while increasing access to schools, health facilities, markets and other essential infrastructure.
The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration is expected to benefit from the improved connectivity, with dependable roads facilitating security operations, government service delivery and emergency response.
The project is therefore set to provide a durable transport link while supporting local economic activity and improving access to essential services for communities along the corridor.
