The suspect linked to the gruesome murder of Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were has been arrested.
Were was shot dead on the evening of Wednesday, April 30, along Ngong Road, near the City Mortuary roundabout.
The suspect was nabbed on the morning of Sunday, May 4, in Nairobi with DCI detectives recovering the gate-away vehicle used during the incident. However, the suspect’s accomplice is still at large.
Detectives said the recovered vehicle has been captured on security cameras near Parliament Building, City Hall Way, Wabera Street, Kenyatta Avenue, Jakaya Kikwete Road, Argwings Kodhek Road and Valley Road.
These are the same roads that the slain lawmaker used from Parliament on the fateful day before his shooting.
After the shooting, MP Were was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
