Kakamega County will host the Western Region ODM leaders’ consultative meeting on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Rosterman Grounds in Shirere Ward, Lurambi Constituency, which will be preceded by a prayer service at New House of Grace Church.

Kakamega Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa, who is also the County ODM Chairperson, confirmed this today when he hosted grassroots leaders from all 12 constituencies at the County Headquarters in preparation for the party’s grand regional meeting.

Governor Barasa reaffirmed his support for Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga’s bid for the African Union Commission Chairmanship and wished success to the enigma, a champion of Pan-Africanism, democracy, and regional integration.

The AU election is set for February 15, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He also emphasized ODM’s strength in Kakamega, noting that nine out of twelve constituency offices are already operational. He urged grassroot party leaders to step up mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 General Election.

With officials from across the Western Region expected to attend, Governor Barasa said the meeting will be key in strengthening the party. He reassured supporters that ODM remains united and focused. The meeting was attended by ODM Western Region Coordinator Hon. Justus Kizito.
