Mwangi Maribe, the beloved father of former Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe, will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 31, his family has announced.
Mwangi died on Monday, December 22, after a prolonged illness. He gained public admiration for his unwavering support of his journalist daughter during her high-profile trial related to the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Taking to social media, Jacque shared her father’s obituary with the burial plans and date and asked for financial support.
“Maribe had been ailing for quite some time and was in and out of the hospital, which placed a substantial financial strain on the family. We humbly request your prayers and financial support so that we may give our mheshimiwa a befitting send-off. Financial contributions to be sent to Paybill number: 4813691, Account Number: Your Name," read the obituary in part.
Mwangi’s memorial service would be held on Sunday, December 28, starting at 10 am at the Worldwide Gospel Church, Buruburu.
Funeral planning meetings are being held at his Buruburu residence and at Castle Garden every day starting at 5 pm.
