Ministry of health in partnership with save the children and Dahabshiil Holdings today launched a strategic Partnership uniting humanitarian commitment and private sector innovation to advance child health across the region.
This Partnership shows power of SDG 17 and acknowledges Ministry of Health’s role in aligning with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), prioritizing Universal Health Coverage and equity especially for vulnerable children.
Hon. Duale discussed on the regional nature of health threats facing children emphasized on it and called for stronger cross border collaboration.
“Through mechanisms such as IGAD, and with support from WHO, UNICEF, and partners like Save the Children, we are enhancing surveillance, mobile outreach, and referral systems,” he stated.
He also talked about impacts of innovation championed through exixting collaboration, incluiding chlorhexidine cord care for newborns, Kangaroo Mother Care for preterm infants, and integrated school-based health and nutrition programmes saying that these are lifesaving strategies with long-term impact.
The CS also assured the Ministry’s commitment towards building unbiased health system and called on county health department to agree with national priorities so that they can all achieve the last mile where familie and children need services most.
The event which was hosted by Save the Children Country Director Mr. Mohamud Hassan and Dahabshiil Group CEO Mr. Abdirashid Duale, was attended by Wajir South MP Hon. Adow Mohamed, alongside representatives from the donor and development community
