Dr. Nancy Macharia, the immediate former CEO of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has been rejected key position in Murang’a County government.
Macharia who exited TSC this month had been nominated by Governor Irungu Kang’ata to serve as the Chairperson of the Murang’a County Public Service Board.
The County Assembly’s Governance, Labour and Social Welfare, and Justice and Legal Affairs Committee was to vet and submit a report within 21 days from June 17.

In a communication dated June 25, she said; “…I decline the post because I have received another offer from an international body, which, in my opinion, will affect my performance as the Chair of the said Board”.

Kang’ata had also nominated Dr. Louis Mwende Musikali, Johnson Kang’ethe Kinyua, and Dr. Brian Lishenga Makamu as board members.
Oscar Kimani Gathura has been proposed for the role of Secretary to the Board.
