Inspector General (IG) of Police, Douglas Kanja, has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the welfare of police officers and advancing the digitisation of police services to provide seamless service to citizens and improve policing efficiency.
One of the key processes being digitised is the Occurrence Book, allowing complaints to be filed remotely via the internet using a smartphone or laptop, eliminating the need to visit a police station in person.
While officiating the opening of the state-of-the-art Mbaraki Police Station in Mvita constituency, Kanja urged officers to operate within the law, emphasising that policing is a shared responsibility.
He also called for greater collaboration between the police and the public to strengthen security in local communities.
