President William Ruto has declared he will respect the will of Kenyans in the 2027 General Election, stating that if voters deny him a second term, he will peacefully return to his farm.
Speaking during the final leg of his development tour across the Mount Kenya region, the President addressed a large crowd in Othaya, Nyeri County, where he underscored his commitment to democratic principles and accountability.“I am ready to face my competitors at the ballot in 2027. If Kenyans decide I have not met their expectations, I will humbly return to my farm,” said Ruto, adding that his development track record should guide the electorate in their decision-making.
Accompanied by his Deputy, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, and a host of Kenya Kwanza leaders, Ruto made a strong case for a second term, arguing that ongoing development projects across the country need continuity to be completed.
The Head of State used the platform to call out political wrangles in Kiambu County, urging local leaders to end infighting and instead focus on delivering their mandate to the people.“The people of Kiambu and the entire country deserve leaders who are focused and united in service delivery, not endless political bickering,” he emphasized.
During his stopovers, President Ruto inspected several government projects including the Ruring’u Affordable Housing Project, Ruring’u Stadium, and launched a modern market in Othaya, among others.
His Mount Kenya tour spanned several counties including Meru, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga, Tharaka Nithi, Murang’a, Laikipia, Embu, Nyeri, and Kiambu, where he reiterated his administration’s dedication to grassroots development.
Leaders accompanying the President rallied support for his administration, urging Kenyans to grant him another term to fully implement the Kenya Kwanza agenda. With the 2027 polls drawing closer, President Ruto’s message to the Mount Kenya region was clear: judge him by his performance, and if unsatisfied, he is ready to accept the verdict with humility.
