The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has issued a recruitment advertisement for over 12,000 short-term jobs to assist with the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
The IEBC recruitment notice was issued on February 25. The commission seeks 12,520 temporary staff for deployment at the ward level for the 30-day exercise. The short-term jobs will pay successful candidates about KSh 2,000 daily. The recruitment presents a golden opportunity for job seekers to gain income before the start of the country’s electoral calendar.
What Jobs Are Available?
The short-term jobs include:
- 1. Voter Registration Clerks: assist the public with voter registration.
- 2. Voter Registration Assistants: oversee voter registration clerks.
- 3. ICT Clerks: assist with the operation of the voter registration machines.
Who Can Apply?
The eligibility requirements include:
- 1. Kenyans above the age of 19 years.
- 2. At least KCSE C- (minus) certificate or its equivalent.
- 3. Basic computer knowledge, especially in the case of ICT jobs.
- 4. Diploma holders in the fields of ICT, statistics, education, business, and related fields will be given a better opportunity to undertake specialist jobs.
What next?
The selected applicants will be required to present their National ID and academic certificates. They will also undergo training and be required to take an oath of secrecy before being sent to their respective wards.
