I Will Expose Those Who Attempted to Overthrow the Government – Kimani Ichung’wah

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah has issued a defiant statement, vowing to expose those he claims attempted to overthrow the government.

Speaking out against perceived threats, Ichung'wah declared, "They can't intimidate me with fear; they should find someone else. I will speak up and name those involved."

During a recent address, Ichung’wah contrasted the political dynamics between Nyanza and Mt Kenya, highlighting the distribution of Cabinet positions.

He noted that despite Nyanza receiving only two Cabinet Secretaries, the region has shown strong support for the government.

In contrast, Mt Kenya, which was allocated seven Cabinet Secretaries, as well as key positions including the Deputy President, the Majority Leader, and the chairs of both the Budget and Finance Committees, has faced internal challenges.

"I advised William Ruto not to be swayed by those who are trying to blackmail him, particularly those claiming they want to unite the Kikuyu community and distance them from the government," said Ichung'wah

He referenced the arson attack on the home of the Finance Committee Chair, attributing it to those he claims sought to destabilize the government.

Ichung’wah also revealed that he had advised President William Ruto to resist blackmail attempts, particularly from individuals allegedly trying to unite the Kikuyu community against the government.

"We will not allow this tribal leader to push us out of the government. Don't be deceived; when Ruto was forming his cabinet, he called upon us, the MPs from Kiambu, and asked us to recommend a candidate for the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary," he added.

He criticized a certain individual, entrusted with improving milk prices in Mt Kenya, for failing to deliver on his promises while instead focusing on divisive efforts under the guise of promoting unity.

Ichung’wah’s remarks reflect growing tensions within the Mt Kenya political landscape, as he warns against attempts to undermine the region’s support for the current administration.
