President William Ruto has once again called out the quarters against the ongoing nationwide livestock vaccination campaign targeting 22 million cattle, 23 million sheep and 35 million goats.

Speaking in Garissa on Tuesday, February 6, President Ruto questioned the academic qualifications and conversance of the critics about animal vaccination.

As a Doctor of Philosophy degree holder in Plant Ecology from the University of Nairobi, Ruto said he is well versed with vaccinations, unlike the critics, who are seemingly less knowledgeable about the drive and its importance.

"Those against vaccination can go to hell. When you see someone speaking, you don’t know where they studied. I have a PhD, and I know what I’m doing. You find people with very little education trying to teach me; what are they teaching me?" said Ruto.

President Ruto said those against the vaccination don’t even own livestock and dismissed rumours that tech entrepreneur Bill Gates is involved in the vaccination campaign.

"Are you are going to listen to someone who grows cowpeas telling you not to vaccinate cattle? They say there is someone called Bill Gates, where is that Gates here in Garissa? These cattle are ours, and the doctors are ours too. And aren't these vaccines from Kabete? posed Ruto.
