Huduma Kenya Says No Mass Hiring, Warns Kenyans Over Fake Job Letters

Huduma Kenya has asked Kenyans to ignore messages and letters claiming that the agency is hiring across the nation.

In a Tuesday announcement, the government service provider clarified that there is no mass recruitment. The announcement comes after the circulation of fake appointment letters among job seekers.

The fake letters claim that the job seekers have been hired and deployed to different Huduma Centres. The letters also carry the Director General’s signature. Huduma Kenya, however, clarified that the letters are not genuine.

The service provider also asked the public not to fall victim to the trick. Any information, including job vacancies, is only communicated via Huduma Kenya’s official website, social media, and the Huduma Contact Centre, 1919.

In other news, Huduma Kenya reminded the public that thousands of crucial documents are available for collection. The documents include national identity cards, birth certificates, and smart driving licenses.

As of early February, the Huduma Centres had processed and were awaiting collection of over 132,000 national ID cards, 40,000 birth certificates, and 89,000 smart driving licenses. The announcement comes after complaints from job seekers claiming that they have waited months to collect their documents.

Huduma Kenya, however, clarified that the delay was due to technical issues experienced by the National ID system. The system sometimes breaks down, causing the delay.

The service provider, however, clarified that efforts to fix the system and offer quality service are underway.
