KUCCPS Updates Private Universities Eligible for HELB Loans

If you applied for a HELB loan using your KCSE index number and now have your National ID, there’s one more step you need to take: updating your details on the HELB portal.

In a recent post on X, HELB reminded students to keep their accounts up to date to avoid any issues with loan processing or disbursement.

How to update ID on the HELB portal

Log in to the same HELB portal account that you created back then using your index number.

Once you have logged in, a pop-up message will appear asking you to update your ID.

You will be asked to enter your National ID number and your first name on your ID card and then click “validate.”

If the process goes smoothly, you will be informed that your ID has been updated. After that, just click “register” to wrap it up.

One key thing HELB pointed out is don’t create a new account. Stick with the one you opened using your KCSE details.

Starting a fresh account could cause unnecessary delays.

The update is quick, but important, especially now that thousands of students are applying for funding.

With everything now linked to your ID, this small step makes sure your information is current and that your loan stays on track.
