Kenya’s Harambee Stars defeated Zambia 1-0 at Kasarani Stadium to top Group “A” of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Striker Ryan Ogam scored the winner in the 75th minute, sparking wild celebrations in the packed stadium. The victory secured Kenya a quarter-final clash against Madagascar at the same venue on Friday.
Ogam, who also netted the winner against Morocco last week, now has two goals in the tournament. As a reward, each member of the 42-man squad will receive Sh2.5 million from President William Ruto.
Kenya finished the group stage with 10 points from four matches, ahead of Morocco (9), DR Congo (6), Angola (4), and Zambia (0).
