Harambee Stars has departed Nairobi for Pretoria, South Africa, for a two friendly match against Lesotho. The matches are part of preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, giving a chance to sharpen their tactics.
Led by head coach Benni McCathy, said the friendly matches are for building a bond and resilience that will help strengthen and improve areas that seem weak.
Kenya and Lesotho have played several times matches, often in AFCON qualifiers and friendlies. In 2014, Kenya drew 0-0 in Maseru before losing 1-0 in Nairobi.
Harambee Stars have managed to score 2-1 victory in 2021 friendly match, as Lesotho struggle d with defense against quick counter attacks.
Harambee Stars will train in Nairobi for further training camps, after the matches in South Africa tour, before competitive fixtures resume. FKF has planned for more friendlies against regional.
