Pep Guardiola has provided an explanation for the cut and scratches visible on his head during and after Manchester City’s Champions League match against Feyenoord.
The City’s manager was seen with a visible cut on his nose at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, accompanied by several marks on his head.
After the dramatic 3-3 draw, where City surrendered a 3-0 lead in a chaotic second half, Guardiola was asked about his injuries.
He responded, “Yes, it’s my finger here. With my nail,” before humorously adding, “I wanted to harm myself,” followed by a laugh.
The match continued a difficult run for City, who had already lost five consecutive matches across all competitions — their worst stretch since 2006 — before the draw with Feyenoord.
This marks the longest losing streak of Guardiola’s illustrious managerial career, surpassing his previous longest streak of three consecutive losses with City, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

Guardiola admitted that his side was “fragile”.
There were audible boos from some home supporters at the final whistle, but Guardiola expressed no concern over the reaction, despite City’s recent dominance on the field.
