Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has denied claims that his office has been allocated KSh 36 billion in the upcoming budget.
The claim was made by a representative of an NGO centered on promoting accountability during an interview on Spire FM earlier this week.
Speaking on Friday, Mwaura termed the claim misleading and inaccurate, saying his office budget does not exceed KSh 100 million.
“There are people out here who are intent on peddling falsehoods and misinformation. How do you go to national radio and claim my office has a budget of KSh 36 billion? That is a lie.The budget of my office does not even reach one hundred million. But because you are posturing for donors, and you want to be sensational, you go out and spread misinformation,” said Mwaura.
