The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has kicked off a major recruitment exercise aimed at linking more than 1,000 Kenyans with job opportunities abroad, in what it calls a step toward creating decent, well-paying work for citizens.
In a statement issued on October 28, Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua announced that the government, working with licensed recruitment agencies, will conduct interviews this week for Kenyans seeking employment in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
The interviews will take place from Wednesday, October 29, to Friday, October 31, 2025, at two venues NITA Mombasa and NITA Athi River. The Mombasa centre will host candidates on Wednesday, while Athi River will handle interviews on Thursday and Friday.
“Through these placements, we are opening doors for hardworking Kenyans to access global opportunities while ensuring they enjoy fair and safe working conditions,” said Mutua.
Opportunities in Dubai and Saudi Arabia
The available positions span several industries transport, logistics, security, hospitality, and construction.
In Dubai, employers are seeking:
350 Drivers (ages 22–45)
500 Riders/Delivery Drivers (ages 21–38)
300 Warehouse & E-Pickers/Helpers (ages 21–40)
150 Security Guards (ages 21–38, minimum height 5’7”, fluent in English)
Additional openings in Dubai include positions for both men and women as Cleaners, Waitresses, Hotel Housekeepers (ages 22–35), and 175 skilled labourers including Masons, Steel Fixers, Carpenters, and General Labourers (ages 21–45).
In Saudi Arabia, opportunities include 50 Drivers (minimum age 21) and 25 Mechanics (ages 21–45).
Competitive Benefits and Fair Terms
According to Mutua, successful candidates will enjoy competitive employment terms. In Dubai, contracts will run for two years and are renewable. Workers will receive free accommodation, medical coverage, meals, transport, and overtime pay, in line with UAE labour laws. They will also be entitled to 30 days of annual leave.
Those placed in Saudi Arabia will benefit from free food, transport, accommodation, medical insurance, and a two-year contract as well.
Mutua added that a mandatory commission will apply to cover costs such as air tickets, medical exams, training, service fees, visa processing, and documentation.
“This initiative underscores our government’s commitment to connecting Kenyans with meaningful job opportunities abroad, while ensuring that all placements adhere to fair and humane working conditions,” the CS emphasized.
What Applicants Need
Aspiring candidates have been advised to carry the following documents to the interview venues:
National ID
Academic certificates
Passport or proof of passport application
Passport-size photos
Any relevant work experience documents
Dr. Mutua urged qualified Kenyans to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that overseas employment not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to national economic growth through remittances.
