Charles Kamondo, a gospel musician from the Kikuyu community who lives with a disability, has alleged he was paid just Sh1,000 after performing at a church event in Githunguri, Kiambu County.
Kamondo claimed that while his fellow performers each received Sh20,000 for their participation, he was handed only Sh1,000.
“After the performance, the rest were paid Sh20,000 each, but I was paid just Sh1,000,” he said.
The singer expressed his frustration over being repeatedly undervalued, noting that many people pay him far less than others when inviting him to perform.
He also recounted a separate incident where a pastor allegedly swindled money raised during his album launch.
Kamondo is calling for equal treatment and respect for all artists, regardless of their physical abilities.
