Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba has strongly denied claims made by a local news outlet about her having a relationship with former Ghanaian President John Kufuor. She is demanding a public apology and a retraction of the article.
The Senator expressed frustration over the media invading her privacy and treating her personal life in a disrespectful way.
“For most of my career, I’ve dealt with different forms of violence, both verbal and physical, and I’ve always fought against sexist systems,” she said. “But this unwarranted invasion into my private life, especially the false claim about me being involved with John Kufuor, is really upsetting.”
The media outlet had reported that Orwoba confirmed in a phone interview that she is dating the 86-year-old former president, who lost his wife last year.
