The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is officially opened, with Kenya’s delegation making a proud entrance, led by Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya in Scotland.
Leading the Kenyan team, CS Mvurya, the opening ceremony was presided over by His Majesty King Charles III, Her Majesty Queen Camilla and Their Royal Highnesses at the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
For Kenya, participation in the Commonwealth Games will be more than just competition, with a chance to reaffirm its place in the international sports, celebrating unity and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
All eyes will be on Kenya’s athletes across athletics, rugby, swimming and other games. They are expected to carry the nation’s identity and ambition into the global spotlight.
CS Mvurya wished Team Kenya every success as they compete with determination and bring honor and glory to our nation.
