Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hinted at the formation of a new political alliance in preparation for Kenya’s 2027 General Election.

Speaking at the AIPCA Church in Kangari, Murang’a County, Gachagua revealed that he is in ongoing talks with religious leaders and like-minded political figures.

He promised a formal announcement in January regarding the outcome of these discussions.

“I am engaged in talks with religious leaders and fellow politicians. In January, I will share the details of what we have agreed upon,” Gachagua said. “We will not allow ourselves to fall into the same situation again.”

Gachagua criticized President William Ruto, accusing him of betrayal and misleading the Mt. Kenya region ahead of the 2022 elections.

His allies have been calling for the creation of a new political party as they gear up for the 2027 polls.

Since his removal from office, Gachagua has been a vocal critic of the government, accusing it of using intimidation and harassment tactics against him.

He recently expressed concern about alleged surveillance by state agents, claiming he has been followed by unmarked vehicles monitoring his movements.
